On Tuesday, the uber company announced that it will provide a more effective helpline for costumers. They are running new 24/7 service that users will have the option to contact the Uber’s safety team during their trip if they have any urgent or non-emergency issue such as a dispute with a driver and co-passengers misbehavior.
Uber also mentioned that this feature is in addition to the in-app SOS button which is already available in the app and can be used in case of any emergency situation.
This company said in a statement that this new helpline service is not a replacement for 100 but this is a better way for users and also drivers to get urgent support.
Pavan Vaish, Head of Central Operations (Rides), Uber India and South Asia mentioned that “All our riders will now be able to access this helpline, any time of the day or night, should they need urgent assistance during their trip,”.
In case of any issue, users can tap the button and they can immediately connect with Uber’s response team in both English and Hindi language where trained agents of the “Safety Incident Response Team” will help them in 24/7.
The safety helpline number is available in the safety toolkit banner within the Uber application. During the trip, users can access the safety toolkit, by taping the shield icon and then they can report a non-emergency safety incident. Uber mentioned that when any users call this helpline, they will try to resolve all issues quickly.
This company also mentioned that “Rider can tap the safety helpline icon, hosted within the safety tool kit and swipe to speak to an Uber representative,”.
