This is the End Review

movie

This is the End is an Apocalyptic Comedy which takes swipes at organized religion through satirizing the concepts of life after death, hell and death in general. The movie uses a rare stance in that it features the main actors acting as themselves and using their real-life names.

The movie is a production of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg who both also happened to be the creators of “SuperBad”. During the early stages of the movie, celebrity after celebrity including notably Rihanna can be viewed sinking below into the pits of hell via a sinkhole.

There is no room for hopeless sinners and as such, most of the celebrities featured in the movie end up going to hell. Fortunately for non-celebrities, most of them have beams which rapture them into heaven.

While havoc is being wreaked on earth, the likes of Rogen, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson and James Franco are all left behind on earth. They survive as their directors wanted to hang out with them under the guise of making a movie. Rogen and Goldberg invite the viewers to partake in a funny/scary lunacy. The actors have a chance to mock and be mocked.

The pre-Apocalypse starts with Baruchel visiting his friend Rogen who asks him to join in at Franco’s house. Baruchel does not want to go along as Jonah Hill will be there but Rogen eventually manages to convince him to come along.

The movie mainly takes place at Franco’s house which has an unusual design. This movie leaves genuine laughs and is one for everyone to watch. It is good and even individuals who are not really fond of comedies are bound to get a laugh or two from it. It is one of my all-time favorites.
