The 2019 offseason was one of the busiest ever. Top talented players moved from one team to another either through trade or free agency.
Most of the trades are now settled as franchise wait for the season to start. It’s thus possible to determine which team has dramatically improved in the offseason.
Here is a list of seven NBA teams which has dramatically improved in the offseason.
1. Los Angeles Clippers
Clippers won the offseason when they signed NBA Final MVP Leonard Kawhi. Apart from that, he also brought with him Paul George; the duos will provide Clippers with unmatched scouring ability. Clippers are now expected to have a higher chance of winning the Western division and probably the NBA title.
2. Utah Jazz
Utah Jazz may be among the top contender of the highly contested Western Conference. Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert are critical players that Utah will depend on the oncoming season. Mike Conley will also assist Mitchell by taking the point guard position. Bojan Bogdanovic is also a gifted player, and they have retained him in their depth. With all that talents in their roster, Utah Jazz has all reasons to shine in the Western Conference.
3. Los Angeles Lakers
Lakers lost Kawhi Leonard in the free agency, in spite all, they have acquired Davis. They have LeBron James, a star, on their side. To top up, Danny Green can defend and shoot, thus can help relieve pressure on LeBron. James, Davis, Green and Kyle Kuzma are a formidable combination, and Lakers have all they need to compete favorably.
4. Brooklyn Nets
Nets signed Kyrie Irving in the free agency. The star is expected to stir Brooklyn coming season. With Durant out of the coming season, there is still a lot expected from Nets. Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert and Garrett Temple will provide the depth required to move the team forward.
5. Philadelphia 76ers
Despite losing Jimmy Butler, Sixers have a better chance of winning the Eastern Conference. They have retained Tobias Harris, and Josh Richardson will fill Butler’s void. Al Horford was signed in the offseason and will help to keep the frontcourts tight. Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons combination will make Philadelphia one of the team to watch coming season.
6. New Orleans Pelicans
Pelican lost Anthony Davis through trade. But in his place, they have acquired Brandon Ingram and JJ Reddick. Zion Williamson, the No.1 overall pick is also on Pelican roster. Thus Pelican may be the better off coming season.
7. Indiana Pacers
Victor Oladipo is returning the coming season; Pacers have done enough to build the right circle around him. They have added Malcolm Brogdon, Jeremy Lamb and T.J. Warren. Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner will be holding the frontcourt. The combination is expected to be formidable.
