MTN Group has announced the appointment of Tsholofelo Molefe as the new chief financial officer (GCFO) alongside changes to the firm’s regional structure and the group executive committee.
“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Tsholofelo Molefe as the new GCFO. Tsholofelo will take up the position as soon as practically possible in 2021, but by no later than 1 October 2021,” the company said in a statement.
The company says that it has finalized a comprehensive review of the company strategy with a goal of accelerating growth, deleveraging the holding group debt and unlocking value.
The revised stratagem will be presented in full following the release of MTN’s 2020 financial results in March 2021, it added.
Molefe is a qualified chartered accountant, CA (SA), and brings extensive financial, risk and telecom experience, MTN said.
“As Telkom’s GCFO since 2018, as well as its chief risk officer and deputy CFO prior to that, Tsholofelo played a key role in the strategic transformation programmes at Telkom.”
Before joining Telkom, Molefe served as finance director at Eskom and as the CFO for First First National Bank’s Personal Banking unit. She is additionally a non-executive director on the board of Curro Holdings.
Molefe will take over from Sugenthran Peremal who has been the acting GCFO since September 1, 2020. She will also join the group board.
