Motorola May Be Launching A ‘Reinvented’ RAZR

Technology

A Motorola exec said earlier this year that the company was working on foldable phone technology and there are still rumors about a new RAZR-branded device. A CNET report says in its upcoming Los Angeles event on November 13th, we can expect the “highly-anticipated unveiling of a reinvented icon.”

It’s not difficult to imagine what we’ll see, however, the exact details of how it function are still vague. Earlier in the year, a patent filing hinted a thin device which looks much like the old-school RAZR phones, while the Wall Street Journal reported sources saying a $1,500 device could arrive at the market as a Verizon exclusive.

Since then, Huawei has not been too eager to launch its Mate X and although Samsung’s Galaxy Fold has arrived, it has not been perfect. Can Motorola/Lenovo get the device right and maybe bring back vertically-oriented smartphones before Essential does? Apparently, we can find that out next month.
