Greek Lottery and Betting Technology Supplier, Intralot has struck a deal. Intralot will now bring sports betting to the National Lottery Retail Operations of the Netherlands.
The company announced on Wednesday that its Dutch Subsidiary Intralot Benelux BV had inked a deal with Loterij’s TOTO Retail Betting brand of Netherland to provide the Orion Sports Betting platform.
The company has shared a 12 years-long partnership with Loterij and now has inked the deal for four years with the provision of three years of extension. Bas van de Bunt, the Director of Business Transformation and Strategic Projects of Loterij said that TOTO is one of the fastest-growing brands and the Orion Platform would be win-win for the brand and for the lottery retailers.
Loterij inked a same kind deal for the online betting with Scientific Games in 2019 October. The Netherlands is all set to liberalize the online gambling market. It is scheduled to be launched in mid-of 2021. However, the date isn’t fixed and can be moved to a later date as well.
This however is a major relief for Intralot. The company is already battling the COVID19 pandemic and also lost many lucrative contracts in the past year. The earnings and revenue of the company are already dented. However, this could settle the nerves of the management as they look forward to the future.
Intralot has been in the business to offer the online product offering. It also inked a deal with the Evolution Gaming to provide online live casino last week for the legalized market. The company is also looking at the US Sports Betting opportunities to recover from the losses incurred during the pandemic.
Intralot has also announced that it had signed as an Authorized Gaming Operator for the Major League Baseball. However, Intralot must wish now that Major League Baseball takes place during this season and does not get postponed or canceled due to the COVID19 pandemic.
