A car is a major investment which requires a lot of money and attention. Most experts suggest that you should wash your car every two weeks as a general rule throughout the year. If you live in an area where there is a lot of salt, such as close to the ocean, you will need to wash it a lot more as salt can corrode the metal and cause rust.
Those who spend a lot of time driving along difficult roads will also need to wash their cars more often. You also do need to wash your car a lot more during winter. Salt can cause tremendous damage to your car.
While the interior of your car is exposed to far less salt, it also needs to be cleaned. Use a vacuum cleaner to get particles (dog hair, dry cereal, bits of dried leaves) out of the seats and mats. Leather seats need to be cleaned in order to prevent the leather from cracking and ageing. This should be done at least every three months or so. If you drive a lot, you should condition the leather at least every two months.
Most cars need a good waxing at least twice a year. In addition to keeping your car shiny, waxing also helps corrosive substances to slide off your car body. The wax provides an extra layer between the dirt/junk and paint job. One of the best things that you can do for your car is get it detailed. Detailing jobs require everything from vacuuming to cleaning your car’s grille with a toothbrush. Many businesses offer this services and while not cheap, you can also do the same during an afternoon though it takes a lot of time.
Fortunately, detailing is not something which you should have to do often.
