Forget About Virat Kohli-Rohit Sharma Is Getting Better And Deserves Some Credit

Indian skipper Virat Kohli is one of the most famous names of modern cricket. He has set standards in the game for being the best batman.

In every inning he makes, Kohli keeps getting better.

Virat Kohli is among the best batsmen in the world. His name pops up when names such as Kane Williamson, Steve Smith, Joe Root, Cheteshwar Pujura are mentioned. The right-hander Delhi batsman has already scored 68 international hundreds across all formats. His record is damningly unreal and unbelievable.

But when we focus all our effort on Virat, we might forget to acknowledge other best batsman in India who have also done great. The names Rohit Sharma deserves to be mentioned and discussed also regarding best batsmen.

In the ODI ranking, Rohit is in the second spot behind Kohli. He also got the highest run in the 2019 ICC World Cup. Though he has struggled in the most extended format of the game, no one matches his skills in overs crickets.

The Mumbai batsman has scored over 8,600 runs in 211 innings at an average of over 48. He ties with Hashim Amla in the fifth spot with 27 centuries and holds the record of the highest scorer in ODI innings. No one else gets close to him In T20Is, Rohit has scored four centuries. He is also the most top run-getter in T30 Internationals.

Rohit has performed well since he started opening in 2013, out of 27 centuries he has attained, 25 of them were while opening. Rohit most exceptional ability is scoring big hundreds. His expertise in punishing bowlers is unmatched, at one moment he scored double centuries while no other batman has ever even managed two.

Another thing we associate Rohit with is his inconsistency. He is not as reliable as Kohli, but his recent record shows that he is improving in the area. His highest downplay is his inability to perform well in whites. However, this doesn’t limit him from becoming the best player in over formats.

Kohli is much better and on a different level, but Rohit has proven that he should be included in the discussion involving best batsmen.

Though his game has been inconsistent, he has made to be among the stars of the game. The man deserves credit for what he has done.
