Facebook is planning to add a new feature that will hide likes on News Feed posts. This company has already tested the same feature on Instagram in August in order to help to fix users’ issues with getting likes on their pictures.
Jane Manchun Wong who is working as a data miner found that Facebook is testing with the change in its Android app on Monday.
This company also confirmed to TechCrunch on Monday that it’s testing the removal of likes on posts to its social media platform.
According to this decision, Facebook posts will no longer show the number of likes or reactions to a post. By using this feature users who created the post will be able to see a list of people and their reactions, but a number won’t be displayed.
Wond mentioned that likes and reactions on comments were still viewable with this feature turned on.
Facebook announced in August that it began the test to “remove the pressure of how many likes a post will receive” on Instagram, and it was “excited by the early test results.”
Facebook didn’t mention that when this feature will be available on both platforms.
