Day Two Of the Ashes Test At Old Trafford-Smith Hitting Gloriously

Cricket

Day two of the Ashes Test at Old Trafford, Smith completed his third century of the Ashes series, and England took two Australian wickets in the morning session.

Smith didn’t worry despite the awful weather condition at Manchester. He missed the dramatic England series drawing win at Headingley due to concussion. He was also unable to play in Leeds after a blow that was inflicted by Archer in the second Test at Lords. In the 2019 Ashes, Smith has played in 3 Tests, had 479 runs, three centuries, 1 fifty and an average of 159.66.

Smith was fidgety when Australian resumed on 170-3 scuffling around the crease, edging but missed early on. However, he was happy when he drove a full toss at Archer and finally eliminating him after ball run away for four. Archer increased his pace compared to the first day, but it’s Broad who was more threatening.

Smith didn’t lose much of himself; he hit glorious boundaries on both sides of the wicket and got a cheer when he reached three figures just before the break.
