Jon Waite, a former CCL CTO, has been chosen as the new general manager at Datacom and will be in charge of cloud technology, focusing on private cloud space.
The firm associate director, Ross Delaney, while speaking to local media, stated that they are glad to have him join their team, especially now that they are experiencing exponential cloud technology growth.
He added that their expansion into many other platform services. With the advent of hyper-scale cloud in New Zealand, he believes Jon will be instrumental in helping their clientele leverage sound cloud technology for the right reasons, with a keen focus on the value above technology.
This comes about two months after Jon exited CCL, where he had held the position of CTO for some years, having started with the company when it was incepted in 2006 in the capacity of system engineer.
In a post that he shared on social media, Jon stated that he is excited to be joining the team at Datacom as the GM of Cloud technology. He added that he will still be based in Christchurch and is looking forward to working with the team.
Before he joined CCL, Jon has served as a senior system engineer at Axon Computer systems. He has also worked with London Electricity as a Network Engineer. This appointment comes in the wake of the company’s move, this past November, to recruit Matthew Evetts, former Group Executive at Optic Security.
