At the start of summer, Paul Pogba, Man United’s midfielder had expressed his intentions to move to Real Madrid for a greater challenge.
However, the fans are a bit puzzled as to what transpired behind the scenes that made him change his mind, to remain at Old Trafford.
Leaked information has it that Adidas chipped in to alter the transfer. The sports giant became the negotiator and ensured the French player stayed on. Paul Pogba is said to be in a 10 year deal with the company which is also United’s kit sponsor.
What’s even more surprising is that Adidas sponsors Real Madrid as well. So why would the company want Paul Pogba to stay back at Old Trafford and not join the Spanish giants? Here’s the catch, with superstars Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard, Pogba’s worth is more worth at United’s than at Real Madrid.
Pogba joined Man Utd in 2016 in an £89m deal from Juventus. The midfielder had a slow start this season. Playing in all four matches, he was only able to create two assists in the match against Chelsea. In their match against Wolverhampton, he missed the second half penalty ending the game in a draw.
Following the poor start, the player was backlashed by fans on social platforms. Gary Neville also criticized the player and urged him to move the team forward. According to Neville, Pogba is Man United’s Bryan Robson and he should rise to the task.
The player has been off the pitch due to injury and we just hope that he will recover by the end of the international break. The Red Devils have invited the Foxes to Old Trafford for their next fixture and as fans we do hope that Pogba will come back with a bang.
