Boston Bruins’ Key Defensemen Remain Sidelined as the Season is Set to Begin

hockey

Last season, Boston Bruins depended on the defensemen in their campaign. Bruin remained affected by injuries, which kept them from moving well even in their playoffs run.

As the new season approaches, some of the defenders from Bruins will remain sidelined due to health-related issues. An article by Boston Sports Journal by Conor Ryan has indicated that John Moore and Kevin Miller are yet to know when they will return. Moore suffered a shoulder injury in the playoffs while Miller sustained a lower-body injury. However, Miller will resume earlier than Moore.

One incredible thing is that Bruins has been able to hold their defensive depth. All their twelve defensemen who played last season remain under team control. They have also acquired a capable veteran player Alex Petrovic.

While the most significant issue concerns Moore and Miller, there is also another concern. Two elite defensemen remained unsigned; Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo. They are both under restricted free agents. They are waiting to be signed this offseason period together with other young players. While the process of negotiation is taking considerable time, Bruins has promised to keep the two for a long time.
