Boston Bruins Captain Zdeno Chara Regular Season Debut Still In Doubt

The regular season is approaching, but Boston Bruins Captain Zdeno Chara is yet to know whether he will be in the lineup for the first game on Oct 3rd . He told Boston Globe’s Matt Porter that he should be in the list. But what is essential is to ensure that there will be no hindrances which may cause discomfort.

Chara broke his jaw when he took a deflected punk during the fourth game of the Stanley Cup Finals against St. Louis Blues. He, however, didn’t miss the playoffs games after plates were inserted in his mouth. He had Surgery later after the playoffs.

Chara added that his offseason training was also suspended for six to seven weeks due to the surgeries he had undergone plus rehab assignment. Chara expressed hopes when he said that he is recovering and working out.

So far, Chara has played in 21 NHL seasons and is entering his 14th season with Bruins. In the 2018-19 season Chara scored five goals and 14 points in 62 games.
