Today, Apple announced it was going to launch a new screen replacement program for Series 2 and Series 3 Apple Watch Models, as a solution for cracking issues.
Apple says very rarely a crack can grow along the curved edge of the screen in aluminum Series 2 and Series 3 Apple Watch models, appearing on one side of the screen and continuing around it.
Customers having these Apple Watch models can get their watch screen replaced for free from Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider in case it is showing this type of crack. They can visit an AASP or an Apple retail store or contact Apple support for a mail-in repair.
This repair program includes all Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3 models in aluminum, with a list provided in Apple’s support document.
According to Apple, the new program will cover aluminum Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3 models for three years from the day it was sold or one year from the first day of the program, whichever is longer.
