When Samsung Galaxy Fold hit the market earlier this year, the launch wasn’t as fruitful as the creators had envisioned. Following malfunctioning issues, the product had to be taken off the market to be relaunched anew.
Now the flexible phone is ready to try the waters a fresh. As such, a few key things make the device somewhat iconic and are interesting to know:
1. Something about the version
Launching in Korea on September 6th, the only model available will be the Galaxy Fold 5G 512GB model. According to rumors, only select markets will have the 5G-ready version while others will have the LTE-compatible version.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold will cost $2000 and will have a Fold Advantage+ program, which will cover 70% of the display repair cost annually.
3. Accessible support
Apart from that, the device comes with 24/7 access to Samsung expert support, talk about convenience. If you want, you can even have a one-on-one session with the experts.
4. Operating System and notable features
Unlike what we expected, the fold will not launch with the latest Android 10 OS. Instead, it will maintain the Android 9 Pie. In spite of that, users can rest assured that the Infinity Flex screen has been redesigned for extra screen strength. A hinge has also been added specifically to keep debris at bay.
In Europe, the device will be available from September 18th while the US should expect it in the coming weeks. The flexible phone will only be available in two colors for US users; Space Silver and Cosmos Black. However, there are no hints on a 5G version or screen replacements.
Well, since Samsung hardly disappoints and with all these improvements, the $2000 price may be worth it.
